About Gamma-Sigma
Welcome to the Gamma-Sigma chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity. We are proud to be part of a brotherhood committed to developing leaders, building lifelong friendships, and living with purpose. Our chapter fosters a supportive environment where members strive for academic excellence, personal growth, and service to others. Guided by the core values of Sigma Pi, we work to create a positive impact on campus and in our community.
The University of Missouri at Columbia is fortunate enough to be the home of one of the top Greek systems in the nation. Mizzou’s Greek system consists of 27 Fraternities and 14 Sororities. Sigma Pi has a chapter (Gamma-Sigma) at the University, which offers great benefits to its members. Our chapter was founded on November 18, 1967 by a group of interested students dedicated to insuring a brotherhood where everyone is respected. These values continue today.
Some of these benefits include scholarship opportunities, service to the Columbia community, enhanced social activities, leadership opportunities, a strong brotherhood, active participation and success in intramurals, Homecoming, and Greek Week.
We provide a clean and comfortable living environment that is conducive to the academic success our members are looking to obtain. We encourage our members to get involved with other activities and organizations on campus. We believe that this can only help each member become better student and member of our chapter.
Sigma Pi is represented in some of the largest and most prestigious organizations on campus. Some examples of these over the previous few years are Honor Fraternities, Honor Societies, Marching Mizzou, Division 1 Athletics, MSA Senate, Junior Greek Council, Greek Advocates, ASUM, Student Court Justice and the Interfraternity Council Executive Board.
Few other fraternities at Mizzou have this much involvement with the campus and its leadership positions. Gamma-Sigma Chapter also contributes annually to the community through our philanthropy benefiting the American Red Cross.
